The National Lacrosse League got its start in 1987 and was known as Major Indoor Lacrosse in its early years (MILL). The New England Blazers began playing at the Worcester Centrum in 1989. In 1992 they became the Boston Blazers and played at The Boston Garden and Fleet Center from 1992-97. In 1998 the league and teams went from being owned by two individuals to private ownership and the NLL was born.
The Blazers are led by a handful of smash mouth, hard working and nationally recognized lacrosse players including scoring machine “Dangerous” Dan Dawson and a brick wall in net Anthony Cosmo.
